Information for Tenants & Service Users
Resettlement Support
We provide service users with the following resettlement support:
- Assessment of housing need
- Support required to move on to independent accommodation
- Support during and after the move for an agreed period (usually no more than 3-6 months)
- Linking service users with appropriate support services and referral to tenancy sustainment services if needed
Move-on Options Available
We are committed to working with all service users to explore a range of rehousing and resettlement options. Options include being rehoused through a rent deposit scheme, supported housing, shared accommodation and sometimes (although more difficult to obtain) permanent self-contained local authority or housing association flats.
It's Your Move
Supported by Broadway, we run regular pre-tenancy training programmes, ‘It's your Move' that address a range of issues that can lead to tenancy breakdown. Helping service users to prepare and manage the practical and emotional challenges of independent living is a central theme of It's Your Move.
Service users benefit from attending the workshops by:
Learning new skills and knowledge to help them prepare for and manage a tenancy, including;
- Knowing what to do, how and when
- Knowing where to access appropriate services and get help and support
- Meeting people in a similar situation and sharing experiences in a group setting.
- Receiving practical information and hand-outs in a folder that can be kept to refer to at a later date.
